If you want to sum up Sliver’s history, try this one: “Sliver are not dead.” The fact is that this France-based band has been hitting the road for 8 years already, with all the difficulties such an underground band can encounter. Sliver were dead many times before : “born-dead” when it took them a whole year to find their very first drummer, “dead on the stage” when there were more people on the stage than in the so-called crowd, and “half-dead” each time one of the members decided to quit the band. But Sliver are still here and they even took the time to release 6 self-produced records, play about 100 gigs (mostly in France but also in Germany, Belgium and Luxembourg) and to create hundreds of songs. Now, after a very chaotic year (2005) and an extremely productive one (2006), here’s Sliver’s new EP: Kamikaze. Today the band is still composed out of 2 of its founding members: Ben and Pipo, who were joined by Orel (DJ) in 2002 and by their new and impressive drummer Anthony in 2005. Sliver are back from the dead and they’re highly determined to prove that their music has never ever sounded better. They’re not dead, actually they’re doing great. In 8 years time Sliver's influences have necessarily changed a lot (and they do change everyday) but at the moment they enjoy: Thursday, Refused, Thrice, Deftones, hellisforheroes, the Used, Finch… and they read : Chuck Palahniuk, Bret Easton Ellis, Murakami Ryu, Douglas Coupland…
